Gangula Kamalakar instructs Collectors for successful conduct of Samkshema dinotsavam on June 9

HYDERABAD, JUNE 7, 2023: Minister for Civil Supplies and BC welfare Gangula Kamalakar directed the district collectors to make all arrangements for the successfully organizing the Samkshema dinotsvam (welfare day) to be held on the June 9 as part of the Telangana state decennial celebrations a grand success.

The Minister along with Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari held a video conference with the district collectors on Wednesday and issued necessary instructions regarding the identification of artisans for providing Rs one lakh grant without bank linkage. The collectors were told to ground at least 50 units on that day. The Minister informed the collectors that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will launch the programme at Mancherial where he would personally give away cheques to the artisans.

Reiterating that the government has envisaged this scheme to uplift the artisans and provide them an economic model for development, he cautioned the Collectors to be vigilant and not to allow any scope for misuse of the scheme. The Minister stated that this is an ongoing programme under which beneficiaries will be identified and cheques will be distributed by the concerned MLAs to the beneficiaries on the 15th of every month. He, however, made it clear that these applications will only be accepted online. The Minister further asked the collectors to ground the second phase sheep distribution programme.

Minister for Finance T Harish Rao who attended the video conference from Sangareddy asked the collectors to take utmost care in identifying the poorest of the poor artisan so as to help him financially. He said that the beneficiaries should be identified with the approval of the district incharge minister. Local public representatives should also be involved in successfully organising the programme, he added.

Health day review

Finance Minister Harish Rao who also holds the portfolio of health and family welfare reviewed the Health Day activities with the district collectors. He directed the Collectors to identify at least 15 women in each constituency on the June 14 to distribute KCR Nutrition Kits. The Collectors were also told to make arrangements for distribution of sarees and BP checking instruments to ANMs and AASHA workers. Meritorious certificates under five categories will be distributed to the medical professionals on that day.

The collectors should complete the identification of the awardees. Students from Medical, nursing colleges should be involved along with the public representatives for successfully conducting the programme. Patients who have been treated for dialysis, Kanti Velugu and other ailments should be allowed to share their experiences during the programme. Special Chief Secretary AH Adhar Sinha, Principal Secretary BC Welfare B Venkatesham, Secretary SC Development Rahul Bojja, Secretary Finance TK Sridevi, Secretary TW Christina Zonghtu, Secretary Health Rizvi and other officials were also present.
